A royal respite with soul and history
Kongehytta isn't just a place to sleep; it's a piece of living craftsmanship history. The cabin was built by Nils Olav Fagerberg, whose passion for wood carving gave the cabin the crown-like emblem above the door for which it is named. After the great flood of 2015, the cabin was completely renovated and moved to its current magnificent location, so that today it faces directly onto the sparkling Lake Tinnsjøen.
Inside, you'll be greeted by the solid feel of heavy timber, combined with modern facilities. We've provided good heating and installed both fibre internet and cable TV. The cabin is decorated with charming light chains and personalised details that instantly put you at ease. This is the perfect choice for couples or small families who want a historic atmosphere without sacrificing a private toilet.
Wellness and views from your own terrace
Kongehytta is one of our most popular units, largely thanks to the combination of private WC and the fantastic location right by the beach and the historic barn. Here you can start your day looking out over the mountains from the terrace, equipped with great outdoor furniture for long breakfasts. In the bathroom you'll find complimentary toiletries, soap and towels ready to use - everything you need to put your feet up from the very first second.
Dream days in pre-made beds
We believe that holidays should be about rest, not practicalities. That's why the beds are always fully made up when you arrive. The cabin has a comfortable double bed and a practical sofa bed for a total of three people. Outside, you'll find your own fire pit with a grill grate, where you can enjoy the evening with firewood from our own forest while listening to the lapping waves of Lake Tinnsjøen.
