A treasure from the Norwegian cultural heritage
In the heart of Tessungdalen, a scenic drive from Sandviken, the enterprising lady Turid Ree Bjørnerud runs her company Shoulder wool. Turid is passionate about preserving the Grey Trøndersauen, a breed that today is considered worthy of preservation. This sheep has its roots in the old Merino breed, which makes its wool considerably softer than that of the ordinary Norwegian white sheep.
The wool from Hulderull is completely unique: it is naturally water-repellent, very warm and has a lustre and softness that must be felt. Turid keeps the yarn untreated so that all its natural properties and healthy lanolin are preserved. When you buy a product from Hulderull, you're not only supporting local agriculture, but also helping to save an endangered part of our national heritage.
Yarn, leather and creativity
If you visit Turid at the farm, you'll get an insight into the entire process from sheep to finished product. Here you can secure beautiful, natural grey sheepskins that add warmth to any home, or gorgeous yarn for your next knitting project.
- Yarn packs: Turid sells ready-made packs of yarn and her own knitting patterns - perfect as a meaningful holiday craft or gift.
- Untreated quality: Since the yarn is untreated, it retains its natural ability to breathe and warm even in humid weather.
