The barn at Sandviken is more than just a house; it is a carrier of the campsite's long history. Originally used as a traditional farm by the Fagerberg family, this building has been transformed into a cosy and inclusive gathering place for our guests. Inside Låven, you'll be greeted by the characteristic scent of old wood and an atmosphere that immediately invites you to relax. We've preserved the rustic details that remind us of the time when hay and equipment filled the room, while facilitating modern cosiness.
This is the perfect place to retreat to if the summer weather shows its fresh side, or if you just need a break from the sun. The barn serves as the campsite's communal «living room», where you can sit down with the day's newspaper, play a board game with the family, or catch up with your neighbour from the tent next door. For us, the barn symbolises the social aspect of camping - a place where new acquaintances are made across borders and generations.
Activities and communities
We use the barn for many different purposes throughout the season. In the evenings, we often organise film screenings for children, which is always a popular highlight. Here, the little ones can gather on the benches and dream away in a good story as darkness falls outside. The barn is also equipped with tables and chairs that make it possible to gather larger groups for communal meals or celebrations.
