In our neighbourhood, you'll find several great waterfall experiences, each with its own unique character. Some invite excitement and play, while others offer tranquillity and fantastic views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local favourites and hidden gems<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lurefossen:<\/strong> Our nearest pride and joy, just 7-8 kilometres north of the campsite (towards Tessungdalen). Here, a bridge goes right over the waterfall, which gives you a fantastic feeling in your stomach! After rainy weather, the pressure here is enormous - a great experience for the whole family. Did you know that one of our cabins is named after this particular waterfall?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gjuvbekken:<\/strong> You're literally standing on top of the waterfall! Approximately 5 kilometres in the direction of Hovin, you'll find this point overlooking the northern parts of Tinnsj\u00f8en and Gaustatoppen. A short walk of 200-300 metres from the road takes you to the edge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bj\u00f8nnefossen waterfall:<\/strong> A real hidden gem! After a short hike (approx. 7 km drive and 100 metres walk into the forest), the landscape opens up towards this beautiful waterfall. It's a tranquil and magical place that feels like your own secret.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>R\u00f8yslandsbergo:<\/strong> Here, the waterfall and the river are your playground. You can swim and slide on the slippery rocks - remember a plastic bag to sit on for extra speed (and to protect your swimwear)!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">National treasures nearby<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you're planning a longer excursion, we can't beat <a href=\"https:\/\/hardangerfjord.com\/opplevelser\/voringsfossen-1571743\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>V\u00f8ringsfossen waterfall<\/strong> <\/a>in the direction of Eidfjord. This is perhaps Norway's most famous waterfall, and with new viewing platforms and bridges, it has been made incredibly accessible to the public. A mandatory stop if your journey continues westwards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remember safety at the waterfall<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Water forces should be respected. In places such as <strong>Juvefossen<\/strong>, The waterfall, with its 50 metre free fall, requires you to be very careful at the edge and take good care of your children.
